Another toy co. goes sports

Some of you may already know that Wizkids is the company that makes HeroClix, Mage Knight, Mechwarrior, and a handful of other original collectible miniatures games. I've been addicted to the MK and HC figs for a while now, but this past year the company was purchased by Topps, the sports card people. They made some small changes up front, but the inevitable addition of a sports game remained mostly a rumor for quite some time. It wasn't long before the same thing that happened with McF happened to WK. This article details rarity levels of the first set of MLB figs (which are impressive from what I've seen), but I'm not looking forward to another flood of jocks to their message board. Yeah, I'm whining. I've long attributed the biggest increase in trollism on Spawn.com to the addition of sports lines. The toys are great, but many of the people who collect them just rub me the wrong way. I'll stop bitching now. [img]graemlins/cry_smile.gif[/img]

Yeah I heard about that - Topps bought them last year. Knew it was coming.

SportsClix coming soon... ah well, they do what they gotta I guess.

What's wrong with them making sports stuff? It doesn't take away from anything else.

I want one, too, but I won't be going to any of the events where they're selling them, and at that the rumor is that he'll either be in the $80-$100 range or that you'll have to spend that much on other stuff to get him.
